FleetForce Truck Driving School has expanded to Venice, opening its fourth location to meet the huge nationwide demand for truck drivers.

Founded by serial entrepreneur Tra Williams, FleetForce now operates facilities in Winter Haven, its headquarters, as well as Palm City and the Bradenton campus of State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota. A fifth location is planned in Fort Myers.

According to a press release, FleetForce, in conjunction with the Florida Trucking Association and the State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota, has created a pre-employment program for students with commercial driver’s licenses who will waive their fees. schooling. FTA member trucking companies pay tuition upfront, with an agreement to hire students once they complete the course and receive their CDL.

“Truck drivers continue to retire faster than the industry can replace them, which essentially guarantees our students a job once they complete the program,” says Williams, President and CEO of FleetForce, in the press release. “For many potential new drivers, however, the cost of obtaining their CDL prevents them from entering the industry. This program allows students to attend tuition-free and come away with a job offer in hand.

The latest FleetForce location is at the Venice campus of the State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota. Todd Fritch, the college’s executive vice president and provost, says more than 200 students have earned CDLs as the institution’s campus in Bradenton.

“Workforce education and industry credentials remain a high priority for State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota,” Fritch said in the release. “The expansion of our Venice campus will double the capacity rate while providing a closer-to-home training opportunity for southern county residents.”

Local CDL employers who need drivers or want to participate in the pre-employment program can contact FleetForce at DriveFleetForce.com.

“We are excited to see our partnership with FleetForce continue to grow,” said Alix Miller, president and CEO of the Florida Trucking Association, in the release. “The incredible response to this program shows how interested people are in such a rewarding, accessible career. We are proud to be at the forefront of training the next generation of professional truck drivers.
