Maruti Suzuki has today completed 500 Maruti Suzuki Driving Schools (MSDS) in the country. India’s leading professional driving school now has a presence in 242 cities with 500 driving schools. Launched in 2005, MSDS has provided driver training to more than 1.7 million customers, the company said.

SDSs are compiled by Maruti Suzuki in partnership with its dealers. Driving schools are equipped with driving simulators that replicate Indian driving conditions and facilitate quality training through a hybrid curriculum that includes on-road driving situations and classroom training by expert trainers.

The Global Driving Course is designed with practical and theoretical lessons based on international driving practices. Organized training sessions educate customers on proper road behavior, defensive driving, traffic rules and regulations and a holistic overview of knowledge on basic vehicle maintenance and emergency management techniques, among others .

MSDS also offers customized courses to meet each client’s individual learning needs. Apart from running various programs for individual customers, MSDS also works with various companies, fleet owners, NGOs and jointly runs programs tailored to their varied needs. Customers also benefit from value-added services such as assistance in obtaining the license subject to RTO standards and training in their personal vehicle.

In line with the move towards digitalization, an exclusive Maruti Suzuki Driving School website and mobile app has also been launched to provide an enhanced experience. The industry’s first online theory content, which will help customers complete theory lessons from the comfort and convenience of their home, will also soon be introduced at Maruti Suzuki Driving Schools.

MSDS works closely with RTOs, traffic police, various NGOs and self-help groups to raise awareness and help reduce road hazards.
