(WXOW) – More and more roundabouts arrive in the Coulée region every year with no signs of slowing down.
September 19-23 is National Roundabout Week.
A local driving school wants to stress the importance of exercising caution and following the rules when navigating roundabouts.
Zimmerman Driving School’s Bruce Handtke had these three takeaway tips for drivers.
He says “When you enter a roundabout, you don’t need to stop unless you are blocking traffic already at the round-about. »
Handtke’s second piece of advice is that there is no need to signal when entering a roundabout since all go counter-clockwise. However, you must signal your intention to exit the roundabout.
“Due to the unusual location of pedestrian crossings, be extra vigilant of pedestrians and cyclists when entering or exiting a roundabout,” Handtke said in his final piece of advice.
