India’s first double amputee with a driver’s license


Vikram Agnihotri’s vehicle is not an average car, but that’s because Vikram is not an average driver. Having both arms amputated doesn’t stop Vikram from driving, thanks to technology and, of course, devotion.

He persevered for a year to obtain a permanent driver’s license, and it was on September 30, 2016 that his wish came true, according to this report.

At the age of 7, Vikram had the worst time of his life when he lost both his arms due to electrocution. Still, he was determined not to let physical disadvantage hold him back.

Today, he is a race car driver, swimmer, football player and motivational speaker. Remarkably, he is also the first Indian amputee to obtain a permanent driver’s license.

Although he had to fight a 15-month battle and his application was even rejected, Vikram was undeterred and determined to get his license. His perseverance eventually paid off.

“My parents never broke down in front of me and made me do all these things anyone else could do,” he said. Local samosas.

His parents sent him to a regular school with his brother instead of a special school.

During these first days, an acquaintance told him that it was possible to use his legs for daily activities. Although he was irritated by the thought at first, he eventually realized he had to push himself to be on his own.

In 2014, he started his NGO named Vital Spark Welfare Society, with the aim of helping other people through motivational talks. It offers workshops, conferences and training modules for all types of audiences, from schoolchildren to companies.

Now Vikram is popular as a car racer. He also has many awards to his name – National Gaurav Award 2017, National Excellence Awards 2017, Dr Batra’s People’s Choice Award 2018 and Malwa Ratna Award 2019.
