Dresden, OH --- Donnie Moran of Dresden,OH captured his 74th career Renegade DirtCar Racing Series sanctioned feature event last Saturday pocketing $7,500 for his flag to flag victory in the "10th Annual Dunn/Hartman/Lutz/Tanner Memorial 50" at Muskingum County Speedway near Zanesville,OH. The four-time Renegade champion powered into the lead at the drop of the green flag aboard the QPI Tools/Eddie's Sunoco/Carrera Shocks/Sunoco Race Fuels No. 99 Donnie Moran Racing MasterSbilt Race Cars/Malcuit Racing Engines Chevrolet Monte Carlo and never looked back taking the win by four car lengths over Mark Banal.

"The car was just perfect", stated Moran to his hometown fans. "My hats off to my race day crew chief Brad Malcuit and the rest of the guys for preparing an absolutely great car. I could drive it anywhere I wanted to."

Robbie Blair and Moran brought the 25 car field to the green flag with Moran winning the drag race into turn one. Moran opened up a two car length lead on Blair as lap one was completed with Banal third, Dave Troutman fourth and Ryan Markham fifth. By Lap 10 Moran had pulled out to over a 20 car length lead over Blair and Mark Banal.

Moran qualified fifth fastest and won his heat race. This was Moran’s first RDCS feature win of the 2003 season. During the 2003 season thus far, Moran has started 19 times, has two feature wins with four top five’s, nine top ten’s and one fast qualifier.
 

 
On Sunday May 25 Moran traveled to Eldora Speedway for a Sunoco ALMS event but had mechanical difficulties during the practice sessions.

On Monday May 26 Moran competed with the Xtreme DirtCar Series in
the 50-lap main event at Paducah International Raceway in Kentucky. Moran finished sixth in the main event after starting sixth. He was sixth fastest qualifier and finished second in the second heat race. Moran currently sits seventh in XDCS championship points.

The next event for Donnie Moran and the Xtreme DirtCar Series will be this Wednesday night, May 28, at Kankakee Motor Speedway in Kankakee, IL for the continuation of the postponed May 9 show. The program will picked up at 7 p.m. after 6 p.m. hot laps with the continuation of the first consy with two laps in the books. That will be followed by the Action Performance Dash, the second consy, and the 50-lap $10,000-to-win main event. Fans holding rain checks from the May 9 show will receive free admission on Wednesday night for the completion of the show. For ticket and race day information call (815) 929-9105. A new track on the XDCS schedule and where Donnie Moran will appear this weekend is Hartford Speedway Park in Hartford, MI, that will host two events on May 30 and May 31. The May 30 show will feature a 40-lap $7,000-to-win main event, and the May 31 program will be topped off with a 50-lap $10,000-to-win race in front of the SPEED Channel cameras.
