DONNIE RACES IN SOUTH; SIGNS NEW SPONSOR

DRESDEN, OH --- Donnie Moran, “The Dirt Ripper”, who drives the QPI Tools/Eddie’s Sunoco/Mastersbilt Race Cars/Carrera Shocks/Malcuit Racing Engines #99 Chevrolet Monte Carlo returned south this past weekend for two Xtreme Dirt Car Series (XDCS) races in both of the Carolina’s but was bitten by a bit of bad luck. In addition, Donnie Moran Racing has announced a new product sponsor and plans for the next couple weeks of racing.

Last Saturday night April 12 at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, SC Moran was hit at least twice during his heat race event that resulted in two flat tires. During the main event Moran’s night ended prematurely when an air cleaner stud broke off. Moran ended up 19th after starting 24th.

On Sunday evening at Carolina Speedway in Gaston, NC, Moran finished second in the second heat that put him sixth on the starting grid for the main event. Running in fifth on lap 27 a fuel pump belt broke forcing Moran pit side for repairs. Returning to the track Moran was able to drive through traffic to reach 9th place before the checkers fell.

The Sunday April 13 XDCS race at Carolina Speedway was taped by the
SPEED Channel television network, and will air on May 8 at 9 p.m., so fans will be able to watch the QPI Tools #99 on national television once again.

This Saturday evening April 19 The Dirt Ripper will return to Florence Speedway in Union, KY for the annual SPRING 50 race that will be paying $5,000 and will be sanctioned by the Northern Allstars Late Model Series (NALMS). The following weekend Moran will head south once again for the April 26 running of the XDCS sanctioned 1st Annual Peach State Dirt Classic at North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, GA. The 60-lap main event will pay $10,000 to win. North Georgia Speedway is located on Hwy. 225 in Chatsworth, Ga.
