
Dayton, OH --- Officials have announced the inductees for the Class of 2002 for the NATIONAL DIRT LATE MODEL HALL OF FAME . The NATIONAL DIRT LATE MODEL HALL OF FAME was formed in early 2001 and the first induction ceremony for the inaugural class was held last August at Florence (KY) Speedway during the annual NORTH-SOUTH 100 weekend. With the votes all tallied from the 35-member Voting Board the Class of 2002 is now official.
"We think the second class to be inducted is a varied and interesting class," stated Bill Holder, Executive Director of the NDLMHOF. "And each one that was voted in are deserving of the honor and prestige that goes along with being inducted into the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame. We are very happy with the voting and are looking forward to the induction ceremonies later this summer."
The top four individuals receiving the most votes of the groups of nominees in each category are inducted into the NDLMHOF.
In the Active Driver Category Mississippi dirt Late Model racing legend Jerry Inmon was selected in a near-majority vote. Joining the championship driver in the Active Driver Category is Scott Bloomquist, Billy Moyer, Jr., and Donnie Moran.
In the Retired Driver Category Red Farmer, Tom Helfrich, Pat Patrick and Bob Wearing, Sr., were voted in.
In the Lifetime Achievement Category car builders Ray Callahan and Barry Wright were voted in along with sanctioning officials Bob Memmer and BJ Parker.
In a new category added in 2002 Steve Francis was voted the inaugural NDLMHOF Sportsman Award.
"We think the race fans will be pleased with the inductees that were voted in for 2002," added Doc Lehman, a member of the Executive Board of the NDLMHOF. "Truly, some of the best and brightest of the past and present were voted in and we think the voting board did a fine job with this year‚s class of inductees. We are all looking forward to the 2002 Induction Ceremony later this summer at Florence Speedway."
The 2002 Induction Ceremony will take place at Florence Speedway in Union, KY, during the weekend of the prestigious NORTH-SOUTH 100, which will be held August 22-24 and will be sanctioned by the Renegade Dirt Car Racing Series and the UDTRA Pro Dirt Car Racing Series.

The voting board of the NDLMHOF numbers 35 members. The Executive Board of the NDLMHOF consists of Holder, Lehman, Susan Bauer-Lee, Jerry King, Eva Goeb & Tim Lee.
NDLMHOF officials would also like to remind everyone that mail order information for the NDLMHOF Raffle will be released in several days. The NDLMHOF Raffle will award one lucky ticket holder a 2002 CJ Rayburn Race Car/Charlie Fisher Racing Engine dirt Late Model roller, ready to race, valued in excess of $50,000. All proceeds will go to the NDLMHOF Building Fund, for the construction of a new NDLMHOF Hall of Fame & Museum.
